The last two decades have seen development of solar cars powered by energy from the sun. Electricity is stored in the batteries when the sun is shining and this power can be used when sunlight is restricted. The batteries are normally nickel-metal hydride (NiMH), Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd), Lithium ion or Lithium polymer batteries. The huge cost of these cars is mainly due to the large number of expensive and delicate photovoltaic solar panels that are needed to power the vehicle, as well as the high cost of lightweight materials such as titanium composites, carbon fibre and fibre glass. Bioabsorbable materials are a class of compounds that can be absorbed by the body over time. A material for bioabsorbable stents should possess enough mechanical strength to hold open the blocked vessel and provide mechanical support without significant recoil or bioactive remodeling, and have a degree of fracture toughness to avoid cracks and broken struts, along with non-toxicity. Materials that have potential use for bioabsorbable stent preparation include various biodegradable polyesters, polyanhydrides, poly(orthoesters), PUs, poly(ether amides), poly(amino acids) and tyrosine-derived Pcs. Researchers have so far, only been able to create devices that are bendable but can't stretch, or stretchable pieces that connect smaller, rigid LEDs. A step forward in handy electronics has been taken with the creation of the first fully stretchable organic light-emitting diode (OLED). One challenge in creating stretchable electronics is to develop an electrode that maintains its conductivity when deformed.
