Work is in progress at the 175,000 tpa Miandoab Petrochemical Complex in West Azarbaijan Province of Iran and production is slated to begin in H2 of the current fiscal that started in March, head of National Petrochemical Company said, as reported by Financial Tribune.
The plant will convert ethylene to higher value-added products, namely heavy polyethylene, linear and light polyethylene with annual capacity of 175,000 tons. Bakhtar Petrochemical Company, the major stake holder in the venture, cquired the licenses from Japan's Mitsui & Co., Ltd. Company, Mohammadi said, adding that the plant will get 140,000 tons of ethylene per year via the West Ethylene Pipeline.
