Japan's Mitsui Chemicals has commenced the construction of a 6,000 mta breathable low density polyethylene (LDPE) film plant in Rayong, Thailand, to be completed by January 2006. Mitsui plans to start sales from May 2006 of breathable LDPE film for usage in the manufacture of diapers. Currently, Mitsui has a 7,500 mta breathable LDPE film plant in Nagoya, Japan, and the company decided to build a new plant in Thailand for export to east and Southeast Asia.
